  • 2022 Charisma Unoaked Chardonnay: $25.39 Aromas of citrus, grapefruit pith, and lemon blossom greet you. On the palate, the wine is crisp with a welcome mid palate of lemon curd. Fresh ripe pears, grapefruit, lemon zest.

About Charisma Wines:
Charisma Wines straddles Oliver and Osoyoos close to the Golden Mile Bench and is the fun and cheeky off-shoot of Gold Hill Winery. Navi Gill and his family have many acres of vines in the South Okanagan and have farmed grapes in the region since the 1990s. Their viticultural skills are known across BC, and you'll find the family's grapes play a part in many of the the Okanagan's top wines. 

The Gill family farms and sells many of their grapes to other wineries, but they now hold back a portion to make their own, estate wines. Charisma is their line of fun, accessible and easy drinking wines that have you covered any day of the week. And, there's a lot to try! 
About Winemaker Val Tait 
Val Tait has a long history in the Okanagan wine industry. She is best known for her expertise in the vineyard and even teaches viticulture at the local Okanagan College. Many up and coming winemakers learned their vineyard practices from Val! 

Before she took the plunge into an Oenology degree at the highly regarded UC Davis, she was working as an agricultural researcher. One day, Alex Nichol (the visionary behind Nichol Vineyard) shared an Alsatian Riesling with her and she was hooked. What a great way to get into wine!
Why We Love Charisma Wines:
Charisma is the "second" wine from Gold Hill, and second wines are a great way to sip top quality juice at an affordable price. The top wineries in the world have second wines - like Pavillon Rouge from Chateau Margaux! 

We love the labels, the playful attitude and most of all the easy drinking nature of the wines. The whites are crisp and refreshing and the reds, robust and juicy. 

Finally, we love the Gill family and Val. They are down to earth and really humble. No PR agents or marketing campaigns, just the family and the winemaker working hard for you!

The Charisma White 3-Pack:
​2022 Charisma Pinot Gris:
This wine is pale straw colour with gold flecks, clear and bright! The nose is very inviting with ripe pears and ripe golden delicious apples. On the palate, you get a lovely mouth feel, ripe pears, almond, lemon cheesecake, honey and a textural depth in the mid palate: creamy lemon curd, a refreshing finish and long length. 

Pairing: Prawn skewers with a wedge of lemon, flatbread on the BBQ with pear and gorgonzola

2022 Charisma Unoaked Chardonnay:
This wine is clear & bright pale straw colour with a lemon shimmer. Aromas of citrus, grapefruit pith, and lemon blossom greet you. On the palate, the wine is crisp with a welcome mid palate of lemon curd. Fresh ripe pears, grapefruit, lemon zest and a refreshing acidity offers a bright lift right through the long lingering finish. A crowd-pleasing patio sipper!

Pairing: Halibut with lemon, butter and herbs, angel hair pasta with the same treatment as the halibut!

2022 Charisma Rosé:
This wine is clear & bright with a pale to medium salmon colour in the glass. On the nose there is a floral note with a vibrant strawberry aroma! Follow up with watermelon and grapefruit zest in the background. The palate is crisp with refreshing acidity, round and inviting with juicy strawberries and cream. The wine finishes dry and giving. 

Pairing: Salmon and chips, veggie tempura.

2021 Charisma Pinot Noir:
This wine is made from grapes grown at Charisma's Lake Bluff Vineyard. The ferment started off wild and 25% of the juice was whole cluster pressed. 25% raised French oak, the rest vinified in stainless steel. You'll find the wine a pale to medium cherry-ruby colour with aromas of forest floor, dried cherries, and cherry wood. On the palate notes of violets and warm earth. The Pinot is light bodied with soft tannins, dried cherries and sweet tobacco towards the finish.  

Pairing: Pulled pork or fried avocado tacos, pastrami on rye, happy hour
Cellaring: Drink now or hold through 2026

2021 Charisma Cabernet Merlot:
This wine is a medium ruby colour with a pale, vivid rim. Aromas of espresso, earth, and wild strawberries. On the palate you can find smoked cherries, earth, espresso, sweet tobacco, wild blueberry pie, vanilla, and cocoa. Mellow tannins, smooth and easygoing with a long finish.

Pairing: Cheddar bacon burgers, sheet pan roasted summer veg - fennel, beets, sweet onion and zucchini. Add some goat cheese!

2021 Charisma Malbec:
Black cherry colour with paler rim. Aromas of earth, violets, and black cherry fruit. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is bold and greets you with juicy blackberry, blueberry compote, mulberry, violets, earth, refined tannins and well integrated structural components. Full bodied yet easy to drink and versatile! 

Pairing: Capicollo pizza, Beef kebabs, Grilled cheese - gruyere on sourdough

What does that mean? It means you can spend less time analyzing your wines and more time enjoying them. It means you’ll never again have to guess whether or not 2011 was a good year for local whites or whether you’re overpaying for that bottle of Merlot. Put away your vintage charts; when you shop through the Okanagan Wine Club, you’ll benefit from our wine experts’ knowledge and experience in choosing great local wines.
No Monthly Fee Means You Only Pay for What You Want
One common question we often get is what monthly dues we charge to be part of the club. The answer? None. We don’t charge our members any kind of monthly fee whatsoever. Joining the club is absolutely free, and always will be.

The Okanagan Wine Club is not a monthly membership site, and this is important for several reasons:
  • No monthly membership fee means you can try wines at your leisure.
  • You can pick and choose the sample packs you want to receive without having to cancel a featured pack (I always forgot to cancel and got stuff I didn’t want).
  • No inventory on hand means we don’t guarantee sales to the wineries, which means they give us their highest quality wine.
Our partner wineries know that our current and future club members are passionate about great wine, and that our members represent a significant part of the wine enthusiast community – that means the wineries are proud to present their very best wines to Okanagan Wine Club members
The VIP Lounge: How to Get In
We value all of our members and offer club members a variety of great services, but as a VIP member, you’ll receive several added perks you won’t find anywhere else. Our VIP members benefit from all sorts of bonus offers that the general public won’t ever hear about. VIP members also have priority access to exclusive wine packs, so you can order your wines a full day before the general public and benefit from exclusive deals from our partner organizations.

Do I Need to Sign a Contract?
Not at all! Joining the Okanagan Wine Club is entirely free and doesn’t require any paperwork. You have no contract with us and may choose to unsubscribe at any time. We do not trap you into monthly charges…you simply buy the sample packs you want 🙂 Simple.
What Happen If I Want to Leave the Okanagan Wine Club?
You don’t really have to leave, as you are not in a subscription! You just don’t buy anymore (but we doubt that will happen).
Is This a Connoisseurs-Only Club? Do I Have to Know Anything About Wine to Join the Club?
It can seem intimidating at first to join a wine club when you know nothing about wine, but rest assured you have nothing to fear. The Okanagan Wine Club is proud to offer a variety of educational materials that will help you to become a wine master in no time. Our weekly newsletters and blog articles are full of great information that can help you to better understand the wine world. With these materials, you’ll learn about wine regions, flavour and texture profiles, and all the big industry news. Best of all, it’s written in a beginner-friendly manner that assumes absolutely zero knowledge of wine, wine pairings, or the wine industry. Even if you’re starting fresh with no wine background whatsoever, you’ll love what we have to offer – and you’ll quickly learn everything you need to know.

Best of all, joining the Okanagan Wine Club is completely free and requires no monthly commitment. So even if you’re not a “wine club” person, you can still learn about, enjoy, and discuss the best wines in the Okanagan.

One of the great advantages of joining our wine club is that you’ll be able to try new, boutique wines easier than ever. Perhaps the reason you don’t like white wines, for instance, is because you haven’t yet found the right white. Wines come in many diverse forms and flavour profiles, and by ordering today you get to try 6 new wines.
I Don’t Drink Enough Wine to Justify Joining a Wine Club!
Even if you don’t necessarily drink wine on a regular basis, you probably still celebrate with it, or entertain family and friends. It’s never a bad idea to have a few bottles of wine on hand should some old friends unexpectedly drop in – and by being prepared, you’ll look like a fantastic host. Wine also makes an excellent gift for birthdays and holidays. Invited for a dinner party? Quickly grab a nice bottle with a story to tell. No one will ship you wine automatically. If you order once, that’s it (until you choose to order more).
I’m Afraid to Give Out My Credit Card Number Online!
We understand that e-commerce can be intimidating, and credit card fraud is a real concern. We ensure that the winery in turn has a payment platform that uses secure SSL verification, a security method that prevents third parties from getting your information. SSL verification ensures that your computer only connects to trusted sites that independent third parties have confirmed as reliable. It’s the technological equivalent of keeping your credit card in a box with two different locks protecting it.
What If I Don’t Like Your Wine?
Here at the Okanagan Wine Club, we strive to bring you the best wine deals in the region – and in support of that mission, we’ve chosen to focus exclusively on cultivating and distributing a great selection of products. By partnering with several different wineries, we’re able to offer you a wider selection of wines to try and enjoy.

Sadly, this means we have no control over the wine making process, and therefore we cannot guarantee the quality of each individual bottle. However, many of our partner wineries do allow you to return wine directly to the winery if the quality has been compromised. If you are unsatisfied with your wine purchase or the quality of your wine, please email us to help you solve the issue.
There’s A Specific Kind of Wine I Want, But You Don’t Offer It!
The great freedom we offer over traditional wine membership sites is that you, the user, are free to order the wine packs you want and decline the wine packs you don’t want. So thankfully, you’re not obligated to buy a wine you don’t think you’ll enjoy (we encourage trying new wines).

Here at the Okanagan Wine Club, we try to come out with new offers every two weeks. If you don’t see your preferred wine in our offers, send us an email and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
